DFL Guv Delegate Count - Update #4

Category: DFL Gov 2010

by Dave Mindeman

Minnesota Progressive Project is running a more comprehensive total of delegates including Congressional breakdowns and super delegates. They are getting more direct information and may be more accurate. But a second source can't hurt.

The Fourth update is listed below.

A big thank you to the county units that have passed along information...keep it coming. This is the county and senate districts I have been able to get so far...with totals.

Counties and SD reporting that I have currently:

Senate Districts: 5-14-15-18-19-32-35-36-37-38-39-40-41-42-43-46-47-49-51-56-57-58-59-60-61-62-63-65-66.

Counties: Beltrami, Blue Earth, Chisago, Clay, Faribault, Freeborn, Goodhue, Grant, Houston, Hubbard, La Quie Parle, Lincoln, Meeker, Morrison, Mower, Nicollet, Nobles, Olmsted, Pine City, Rice, Sherburne, Steele, Stevens, Swift, Waseca, Winona.

That totals 725 delegates as near as I can tell; Totals so far:

Uncommitted.....318
Rybak................132.5
MAK..............,,...112
Thissen...............56
Marty..................37.5
Rukavina.............33
Bakk..................19.5
Entenza..............17

Now -- if anybody has additional information about delegate selection in district or county units not listed above, I'd very much appreciate a report. And please, if a delegate is from an uncommitted caucus, report it as such -- if you happen to know which way they are leaning it would be great to hear that, but do not report it as an official delegate for that candidate.

Send the information to my email: dmindeman06@yahoo.com

Thanks again.

You Might Be a Minnesotan....

I think Barb Miller over at the ClothesLine blog is on to something here. There's enough things that are uniquely Minnesota that we could give Jeff Foxworthy's "you must be a redneck" some competition.

Check out Barb's one liners here. And we'll add some more. Here you go:

If you look at the time we had a wrestler for a governor as the good old days, you might be a Minnesotan.

If your governor thinks that cutting out the poor while protecting wealthy citizens from taxes is "setting priorities", then you might be a Minnesotan.

If your governor has perfected the long distance veto pen, then you might be Minnesotan.

If you have a freshman Senator with more spine than the entire US Senate put together, you might be a Minnesotan.

If Lizard People nearly decided your US Senate election, then you might be a Minnesotan.

If you refuse to buy a generic product for $4.00 because you have a $2.00 coupon for a brand product that costs $8.00, you might be a Minnesotan.

If you use an express checkout line with a limit of 15 items but you have 14 different items with 5 of each, you might be a Minnesotan.

If you sit on a frozen lake near a 2 foot cut out hole in the ice watching a bobber for 4 hours, and call it "your vacation", you might be a Minnesotan.

If you live in a state with snow in April and freezing temps in October, but beg for an outdoor baseball stadium, you might be a Minnesotan.

If your best hope for a football championship is based on a 40 year old, indecisive, broken down quarterback, then you might be a Minnesotan.

If your chronic loser pro basketball team qualifies for the NBA Lottery but NEVER gets the first pick, you might be a Minnesotan.

If you read "Hot Dish Politics" and immediately think about last month's church pot luck, you might be a Minnesotan.
