4. The primary task and responsibility of American government is to do for its citizens, collectively, what they cannot do for themselves individually.
5. The primary obligation of government is to refrain from interfering with each citizen's right to do what they are capable of doing for themselves.
6. It is essential to foster and maintain a free and independent press.
7. Separation of church and state is essential to the survival of democracy.
8. Good government costs money. Every citizen has an obligation to support, as their means allow, the important work of government, for the security and well-being of all citizens.
